 Story Summary

Meet Minoru Kageno, your average high school kid with a rather peculiar ambition. He envisions the pinnacle of success as orchestrating everything like a secretive marionette controller. To achieve this lofty goal, he rigorously trains, delving into various combat styles and strategies. However, he quickly discovers a hitch: no matter how tough or cunning he gets, he’s still shackled by the mundane rules of everyday life, with a clear limit to how “shadowy” he can be. Then, just when he thought he had it all figured out, life throws him a curveball: he meets his demise in true isekai fashion—squashed by a rogue truck. But wait! Instead of an end, this crash is merely the prologue. Minoru is reborn in a fantastical world as Cid Kagenou, a young nobleman with a fresh start and the same insatiable desire for shadowy dominance. While he could opt for a peaceful existence, that’s far too mundane for someone with his grand ambitions. Cid resolves to adopt a nondescript persona, seamlessly blending into the scenery while secretly striving to become the ultimate ruler of shadows. And so begins his wild adventure, as he sets out to live out his grandest fantasy in the most ludicrously extravagant way possible.
